A little while back we received a lovely message from Laurent, a real cycling fanatic and loyal fan of Eddy Merckx. He asked if he could order two shirts from us, because he had a Meet & Greet with the one and only Eddy Merckx. How jealous we were!
The next day, he came to us to pick up two shirts that we can call legendary. The first shirt is a replica of the 1969 yellow jersey of the Faema cycling team, this shirt was especially designed to celebrate Eddy Merckx's first tour victory. He also bought the yellow jersey of Molteni from 1974, this is the jersey of Eddy Merckx's last tour victory.
The Meet & Greet took place in the Belgian town Overijse. On the occasion of the World Cup in Leuven, an event was organised where a number of cycling legends were present. Not only did Laurent see Eddy Merckx, but also Francesco Moser and Moreno Argentina. He told us that he got to meet all three of them and that Eddy Merckx even signed his two jerseys!
Laurent made two people very happy with these cycling jerseys: his son received the signed Faema jersey (see photo). The other jersey, by Molteni, is unfortunately not in the picture, because it was already in the gift box. This because Laurent's father turns 72. Laurent told us that his father, Pierre, is the biggest Eddy Merckx fan. A wonderful birthday gift to remember!
