20 ANNI ITALIA!

27 May 2020 By Wijtze De Groot News

Cycling friends for life - that certainly applies to the cycling friends of Erik Ballier. This year they went cycling in Italy for no less than the twentieth time in beautiful Tuscany.

And if you're going to cycle together in Italy for the twentieth time, you have to do it in style, of course. With a feeling for cycling history, they chose 4 retro cycling jerseys, from 3 Italian cycling teams and 1 French cycling team:

  • Molteni - the team where Eddy Merckx won 246 victories.
  • St. Raphaël - although a French team, it has a very beautiful jersey in which Jacques Anquetil won the Giro d'Italia in 1960.
  • Ferretti - the kitchen brand Ferretti sponsored this Italian cycling team from 1969 to 1972 - the Swedish Pettersson brothers, among others, rode with this team.
  • Sanson - the Italian food brand Sanson sponsored cycling teams from 1965-1979, including Sanson - Campagnolo in 1980 with the great Italian cyclist Francesco Moser.

EMBLEM ’20 ANNI ITALIA’

The cycling friends have not only gotten their retro cycling jerseys from Retro Cycling, but we’ve also taken care of the design of an emblem that would make this 20th time recognisable and memorable. The design of the emblem '20 anni Italia' was made by Anneke Rietveld and was applied to the chest of the historic cycling jerseys.
